The Western Indian Ocean Marine Protected Areas Outlook is a new publication from UN Environment Programme / Nairobi Convention and WIOMSA that examines the current and future status of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) at a regional level.

The MPA Outlook documents progress made by countries in East Africa towards achievement of SDG 14.2, in which countries committed to protecting 10% of their marine and coastal areas by 2020 and provides lessons and opportunities to increase momentum for achieving the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework targets.

The Outlook will be launched on 16 July, 2 PM EAT on KUDO. The MPA Outlook Launch platform has changed from Microsoft Teams to Kudo, to allow simultaneous interpretation for our French-speaking colleagues.

Please note that before you can join your first meeting, you will need to set your password as prompted.

It is highly recommended to join via Google Chrome for seamless access to the microphone and camera.

The launch link will be open at 1:30 PM EAT, and you are highly encouraged to join before the event starts.
